Well have the latest stable release for CAD. Installed the fonts (no updating, no overwriter, pure install) but it fails to display corectly the information for min-mal and for the default version (different fonts (like that for time) very bad aligment, and mouse over buttons completly borked.
I was workin on a SS, but with these problems + short time I have, I will kinda fallback from this one.
I really like these designs, but as I have said before, it's just not something I could use. To be satisfied it would require various type of apps and knowledge to "mod" everything to look consistent. I know it's pretty impossible to get Windows to look consistent. But I would love to see some of you great designer work on something ultra usable. Interms of both application compatibility and consistency aswell as colour choices for fonts and such. My monitor isn't very good and I think it really degrades some of the high contrast black and white stuff.
I guess I am looking for a holy grail of a visual design.
some little feedback after a couple of days of using it from a simple user (dont have any plan of hacking a gui) might be of interest for you! love the small and bright appearance, also the start panel rocks! i'm one of the few people saying clearly that i like xp and its so good to have such a fresh desktop after all! thanks a lot for the hard work to you gaia guys
for the life of me i cannot get the start button to show properly..... its like is to far left out of the screen. I dont think it happened until i installed one of the styler bars. Ive reinstalled all the fonts and ive re-downloaded the VS. Any ideas?
The version of Blank.ttf this theme uses was different to the one I had installed.
I see that you've replaced the default start button "Start" text with the blank font, essentially removing the text there. And by me having a different version of the blank font, the start button appeared different.
To everyone having a similar issue, try reinstalling your blank.ttf font. Hope this helps, and great theme jg
Thanks man. I enjoy many aspects of customization & this one was towards a good cause. So I volunteered my services, and had a great time doing it. After a little break to let this soak in, 'retrofukation' will be on it's way.
